day two in the windy city...

on saturday, we caught a cab to lincoln park to eat at...




nookies too...was one of my favorite places to eat while in chicago. i had the greek omelet and it was wonderful...i am still thinking about it...and i don't think about food like that often! :0)



after we arrived at nookies...i asked jq for quinn's backpack...that contained every toy that i brought for him and qualls...the backpack was not to be found. it was left in the cab! oh me...so, some kid in chicago is walked around with a cute monogrammed "quinn" backpack and crayon roll...

the older boys went to the cubs game against the la angels. it was a blowout but they enjoyed themselves. while they were at the game...the younger boys and the women went shopping around lincoln park. i LOVE that neighborhood. i could pack my bags and move now! tobey says that i would love it till winter...he is probably right but i would get good use out of my cute coats that i hardly wear now.

after the game and shopping, we met the rest of the crew at the apartment with the best cupcakes ever!!! the best little bakery is right next door...oh me! i would have been in big trouble if i lived by there when i was preggo with the boys!!! :0)

after i played with tobey's ipad for a while...which i totally love!!!

we went and ate at uncle julio's for supper. i was wanting some good/real mexican food and tobey found me the place. it was so good!!!

after supper, we road the train back to the hotel...quinn was dying to ride the train so we did and was it an experience. jq and i have rode the train in nyc but never with two kids...alot of stuff trying to get down the stairs...that was the one and only time we attempted it...and of course, we went to the station that was under big renovation. oh well! quinn had a ball!!!

early friday morning...we flew out to visit uncle tobey and jessica in chicago. gigi and pops went along for the ride. we got in chicago in the afternoon...uncle tobey and jessica came to our hotel and off we went. we had reservations for dinner...so, we walked around the city (got caught in a storm) then headed to eat. after eating...we went back to the hotel to get ready for saturday!

we have been planting flowers around the dickerson house. my mom laughs because when i was younger i would always come out while she was planting flowers and ask "why do you do that...they are just going to die?" i still kind of think that but they are pretty...

shopping, sprinklers, tball = a whole lot of fun!!!

we had a great memorial day. in the morning, quinn and i went with gigi to target and a couple of other stores before coming home to hamburgers on the grill. pops had them ready and they were great!!! quinn enjoyed some time in the sprinklers...he even got me running through them with him...not a good idea when you have on the clothes you wore out shopping earlier in the day. he had a blast and so did i...so, that is all that matters!

yesterday, we took the kids to build a bear. jessica's (my brother's girlfriend) parents gave the boys a giftcard when qualls was born so we went and used part of it. quinn has been before but he was much more into it this time than before.

stories of the day...

we went to lowe's later in the day to pick up stuff for our backyard patio. we were checking out and everytime the cashier would scan something in our cart...quinn would clap...say "good job" and give him a thumbs up! jq and i were cracking up!!! quinn is very supportive! ha!

we always have supper with gigi and pops on friday nights. we went over their house last night. quinn was being a stinker about something...so, he said his usual..."i'm sorry" then hugged pops...then turned around and looked at jq and said "i'm so sweet." so funny!

super word club and some recent projects...

tuesday...we went up to the elementary school for the kindergarten awards day. cousin noah and luke both got awards for being in the super word club! all of the kids were so cute!!!

here are a couple of recent projects that i have completed...

a funny story (not at the time though)...

the other night...the boys and i went to gigi and pops' house for supper. i just grabbed the formula container and took it with me. well...at 1am...qualls woke up for his bottle. i go in the kitchen to make it and realize there is NO formula. i left it at gigi and pops' house. oh me! i had to wake jq up to keep qualls entertained so i could run to wal-mart to get formula. i really don't remember going to wal-mart...which is really scary. when i walked in the door...i had a screaming 7 month old.

what have we been doing?!?

qualls loves carpet. we only have carpet in our bedrooms and we do the majority of our playing in our living room...so, when he goes to gigi and pops' house...he constantly rubs his little hands on it.

we also went to a birthday party (where i did not take any pictures), went out and about with aunt abbe and meredith, played with quinn and qualls' friend, cole. we have had a great few days and look forward to a wonderful week!!!
