a little fun activity...

but quinn decided he would like to taste the non-cooked noodles...and after that...he was over this little plate...

so, we moved to this...


i remember doing this as a child and thought quinn would enjoy it...after the 1st activity was shot! ha! he did not really enjoy the glue much...because he was getting it all over his hands. i helped him out a lot because he was too worried about the crayons that were also on the table.


as you can see...he no longer wanted to glue and use construction paper...

he wanted to use the crayons for qualls' name...

then...he decided he wanted to draw our family...

i really don't know about the tail looking thing coming from j.q. pretty funny!!!

quinn came into the living room the other night with his backpack on...he said he was ready for school. he then put up his finger and said "i need a hat." quinn has a thing about hats. pops will find random ones and bring them to quinn. the hat that quinn came out of his room with...was the lovely red mule day hat. cracks me up!!!

i can promise you that quinn will NOT go to school in this lovely outfit or better yet...even out of the house!!!

no such luck...

quinn and i made our 2nd trip to the pediatrician on friday. he was still hacking up a lung. poor little guy. this mom has not had 3 hours straight of sleep in a LONG time. i joked to my friend, jenny, the other day that if i could get an iv of diet dr pepper...i would!!! i would go to bed...then qualls would wake up for a bottle. i would get back in the bed for about an hour then...quinn would wake up coughing. get quinn back to bed. qualls would wake up. pretty much the routine of the past 7 nights...of course, this is jq's long week at work. i believe these boys already have started "ganging" up against me!!!

this little beauty made the trip home with us on friday along with an antibiotic...

the nebulizer...

quinn has done pretty well with it. my mom did the first treatment with him. bless her heart...since she is a nurse i ask her to do all of that kind of stuff. she doesn't care at all. very very thankful for that!!! :0) we are on day 2 and quinn is doing better. hope it continues...but it does look like qualls is getting what quinn has been fighting.

on the way to the doctor on friday...i was thinking about all of the parents that are going through chemo with their children or any other type of serious sickness. i cannot imagine what they are going through...i say a prayer for them every night. my heart aches for them.

on a funny note...dr. meneely was done seeing quinn and i was getting him ready to leave. he looks at me and says "mom, lets get out of here." even sick...he just cracks me up!!!

kiss my brain...

one of my friends, kara, teaches quinn's sunday school class. kara is wonderful and so cute! when the kids answer a question or do something "smart"...she tells them to "kiss their brain." quinn was telling me his colors correctly the other night so i told him to "kiss his brain."

great little toy...

i got quinn a tag junior over the weekend and it is a definite hit!!! so cute! you can download up to 5 books on the tag (from their website) and it even will welcome you by name. quinn loves to turn it on and hear "hello quinn"...he just smiles every time. after you download the book to the tag...you press it down on the book and it recognizes it...and teaches shapes, colors, etc.

oh the memories...

last night, i was reading kelly's post...and i thought back to when Quinn was 11 months old. we were going to florida for a week. my sister, abbe, and her family were already down there with my grandmother. we left sunday night after J.Q. got off from work and drove to birmingham for the night. we had planned on driving the rest of the way on monday morning. we were also planning on Quinn to sleep on the way to birmingham and then putting him in the bed when we got there...easy, huh? not so much!!! he screamed from the time we got in the room till the time we left around 2am. he did not want anything to do with that room. our room was at the end of the hallway and J.Q. went to the car to get something...he came back and said that he could hear Quinn screaming in the lobby. so...that meant that every person between our room and the lobby were hearing this child screaming!!! so...after everything i had in "my mom hat of things to calm your child" was used and had not succeeded...we decided to get in the car and just drive the rest of the way. i had to convince J.Q. that Quinn would be fine (he did okay...not the best but okay?!?) down there with the family because he just wanted to come back home!!! we loaded the car back up and as soon as Quinn's head hit is carseat...he was out!!! UGH!!! thank goodness my sweet grandmother was there because she took Quinn and J.Q. and I got to rest some before hitting the beach. the positive thing was...we did get an extra day on the beach by getting there bright and early on monday morning!

crayon valentines....

this year for Quinn's valentines...i decided to give something that he loves at this time in his life!!! and it is definitely some "coos" aka as crayons. i found this link and we went from there!!!

printed the cards out and attached them to cardstock...taped them to the crayons...since i could not find my holepunch! why is it that you cannot find the stuff that you...need when you need it?

a first...with sewing...

I started sewing around this time last year. I took a class and loved it! I have made many jon jons for Quinn and other summer rompers but never attempted pants or shorts. This last week...I decided to do it! With the help of GiGi (my mom)...I sewed my first pair! Quinn wore them yesterday so I took a couple of pictures! I have already cut out another pair that are waiting on me to sew them up!!!

Yesterday...Quinn and I went to eat with our "cousin crew" at Dumplins in Franklin. Qualls and J.Q. stayed at home and played!!! Quinn loves John Michael! They usually play under the table with their trucks, tractors, etc. Who knows what it will be like this time next year with JM, Quinn and the 3 new babies (Qualls, Gray and Anabelle). We will have to rent out the whole restaurant or stick with McDonalds!!! I didn't get many pictures but here are a couple....

Quinn is starting to talk more and more each day. He still has a lot of stuff that we don't understand but he can tell a story. One of my friends..."wants to break his code (what he is saying)." Cracks me up! We are now afraid to say "yes" to things he asks because we do not know what we are saying "yes" to. We have really started watching what we say!!!

Here are a couple of things...Quinn has said here lately...

(some I am not so proud of but I want to remember them so they are going on here)

**we are trying to teach him "yes mam/sir" and "no mam/sir"...the other day I told him to do something and said say "yes mam"...he said "yes way." i kept saying say "yes mam"...he continued saying "yes way" and looking at me like i was crazy. so, I now understand why he has been answering me with "no way" and "yes way"...

he thinks he is saying "no mam" and "yes mam." that boy!!!

**one of the ones i am not so proud of...JQ was singing (crazy) at the top of his lungs the other day. Quinn was yelling "stop, stop, stop." i walked in the room and Quinn looked at me and said "mama, das (aka dad) sings like crap." i about died! so, he did get in trouble for saying that but i think his parents need to start watching what they say and what is on the tv when he is in the room.

**as you have seen from prior posts, Quinn loves anything about the "cars" movie. during the holidays, a tv show came on with pixar short stories and we tivoed it. he wants to watch it all the time so i have really made an effort for him to only watch it once a day. he had already watched it for the day (gigi was here visiting)...so, he came in and set on the couch beside gigi and asked me to watch "cars"...i said "no" and gigi said "say please"...so, Quinn says "please"...i reach for the remote and he leans back on the couch and raises his hand in victory...and loudly yells...

"yes, i got it!"

We are looking forward to many days of being entertained by Quinn and Qualls. A day will never be boring...that is for sure!!!

Quinn's obsession...

When Meredith was born...Luke stayed with J.Q. and I.

I believe that we watched the Cars movie a million times.

The whole family would be on a hunt for the new Lightening McQueen. Luke had each and every one of them (yes...Luke got pretty much everything he wanted...he was the first baby in our family in almost 20 years).

So, when Qualls was born...GiGi and Pops bought Quinn the Cars movie...since then he has been obsessed. We have watched the movie a million times (sad thing...with all of the times that the movie has been on...I have yet to watch the movie the whole way through). He has all the cars that are in the movie and as you have seen in other posts...He got the powerwheels Lightening McQueen from Santa. Quinn also sleeps each night with McQueen in one hand and Mater in the other. He also wears his Cars pajamas almost every night.

So...as you can see...Quinn is obsessed!!!

where does the time go?

Today...I filled out Quinn's application for our church dayschool (not real sure about this yet!). It feels like yesterday I was watching him roll over for the first time like Qualls. It is crazy how time flies. One of my resolutions this year was to stop going all the time and ENJOY these moments with the boys! It is only here for a short time!

Everytime I hear this Darius Rucker song...I get tears in my eyes! He is talking about his daughter but I always relate it to the boys. It really isn't going to be this way for long.

Not real sure if I am ready for this phase to begin???

papaw and the hat...

Quinn loves to aggravate Papaw about his hat! He always tries to get it off his head and run with it! We took GiGi out for her birthday and when we got home...Quinn was getting ready for bed but he decided he needed to get Papaw's hat first...

Let me have it Papaw....

Papaw got it back and Quinn was telling on him to GiGi...

He got over it quick and was ready for his close up! Yelling...CHEESE!
